Taonga Puoro

Yesterday Jerome Kavanagh came to Granity School to teach us about traditional Maori musical instruments. He showed us how to make music with a hue which is a gourd. He also showed us the putatara which is a conch shell. Another instrument he used and made music with was the purerehua that sounded like the wind.

Weird and Wonderful Wednesdays

This week we had vegetable soup! At first we were a bit worried about what it would taste like. We all gave it a try and we loved it! We also planted our own carrot seeds. We are looking forward to having our own carrots to make more vegetable soup!

Anzac Biscuits

We made ANZAC biscuits today in class. We have been learning about ANZAC day. Some of us were surprised to learn it is not about biscuits.

Weird and Wonderful Wednesday

On Wednesdays Mrs Sherie brings in food for us to try as part of the Great Food Project. It could be weird it could be wonderful, it could be both! We promise to give it a try, but it's ok if we don't like it.

Today she brought in hummus and vegetable kebabs with chorizo sausage. We hadn't tried chorizo before, but we really liked it! The hummus was good too!

Thanks Duffy!
