Yesterday Jerome Kavanagh came to Granity School to teach us about traditional Maori musical instruments. He showed us how to make music with a hue which is a gourd. He also showed us the putatara which is a conch shell. Another instrument he used and made music with was the purerehua that sounded like the wind.
This was really inspiring, listening to instruments that mimicked native birds. Thx for reminding us of our esteemed manuhiri, Jerome Kavanagh.
